Åsa Sjöström and Pieter Ten Hoopen received three prizes in the Swedish Picture of the Year Award. Åsa won 1st prize in the category Daily Life in Sweden with a photography of Annette, who is suffering from cancer and spending her last days in a hospice in Malmo, with her boyfriend Dragan sleeping beside her. Åsa also received a 2nd prize in the category Daily Life international for a picture of Nabirichim Yanghi in Ghana, who is accused of using witchcraft.

Pieter received 3rd prize Portrait for a picture of Radki Davi, who is part of a movement that has begun to resist the oppression of women in Uttar Pradesh, India.
