Andrea Gjestvang won the most prestigeous award in the 2012 Norwegian Picture of the Year competition – The Photo of the Year – with her portrait Utøya survivor Ylva Helen Schwenke. Her portrait story of Utøya survivors was also awarded first prize in the portrait story category. Eivind H Nativg won first prize in the Norwegian picture story category with his “Coastal Priest” story and Helge Skodvin won second prize in the same category with is “240 Landscape” story.

In the Swedish Picture of the Year competition, Martin von Krogh was awarded second prize in the swedish photo story category for his series “Living with darkness” and another second prize in the news story category for “Snow in Stockholm”. Åsa Sjöström was awarded third prize in the swedish photo story category for her story “Fika” – part of the collaborative project Scandinavian Moments produced by Moment’s photographers las year.

All in all, seven of Moment’s photographers have won nine awards in the Scandinavian Picture of the Year competitions for 2012.
