A few weeks back IKEA Foundation started launching their campaign -Brighter Lives for Refugees, together with UNHCR. The campaign is about people who need light for a better life. In a refugee camp it´s already dark at 17-18 pm and until recently there has not been any light sources after the sun goes down. Now with the help of IKEA Foundation refugees face a safer future with solar-powered street lights and lanterns that allow children to do their homework when they come home from school and women dare to walk in the streets after dark. The power comes from our natural energy, the sun.

I have been on site documenting the UNHCR and the IKEA Foundation’s work in Dollo Ado in Ethiopia close to the Somalian border.
