The Norwegian island Givær was evacuated on Friday due to a hurricane forecast. This is the first time in history Givær is evacuated. Wawes as high as 25 meters are expected. The highest level of the island is eight meters. Read more in Norwegian at an.no and tv2.no.

Knut Egil Wang has been documenting everyday life of this small island community, and his images will be exhibited at Lofoten International Photofestival in March.
